Studio Kudos is a multidisciplinary, bilingual, intercultural design studio based in NYC. We design identity systems, publications, interactive websites, environmental graphics and icons. We work with clients and collaborators to create fresh and effective design solutions in the appropriate medium.

Prior to founding Studio Kudos in 2008, John Kudos was a designer at Pentagram, where he managed various art, cultural and institutional projects during his seven-year tenure. He is one of the recipients of the Art Directors Club's Young Guns 6 in 2008 and was named an emerging design talent by STEP Inside Design magazine in 2006. ...He is the founder and designer of Splotch, an online art and culture publication that was awarded a silver medal by the Society of Publication Designers in 2005. John holds a BFA in Graphic Design with Digital Media Concentration from the Maryland Institute College of Art. John’s work has been recognized by the D&AD, the Society of Publications Designers, the Type Directors Club, AIGA 365, AIGA 50/50, Graphis, Print Regional Design Annual, I.D. Annual Design Review, Communication Arts, Black Book AR100, and the New York Book Show.

Kiki Katahira, co-founder of Studio Kudos, was previously a designer at 2x4 in New York, where she managed projects for art, architecture, fashion and cultural clients worldwide. Prior to 2x4, she worked with Stefan Sagmeister and Harry N. Abrams. ...Kiki holds an MFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York and a BFA in Visual Communications Design from Osaka University of Art in Japan. She was featured in HOW magazine’s “Five Fresh Designers to Watch” in 2004 and was mentioned in high regards in Print Magazine’s Regional Design Annual from the same year. In 2002, she came in first place in the Adobe Design Achievement Award. Kiki’s work has received design awards from the Art Directors Club, the Tokyo Type Directors Club, the New York Type Directors Club and Communication Arts.

2008年のスタジオクドス発足以前、設立者の一人であるJohn Kudos （以下クドス）は芸術や文化面で世界的に活躍するニューヨークのPentagramのデザイナーとして7年在任。Maryland Institute College of Artのグラフィックデザイン科でデジタルメディア強化生として学士号を修める。 クドスは公募ベースのオンライン芸術誌Splotchの創設者及びデザイナー...でもあり、同誌は 2005年にSociety of Publications Designersにて銀メダルを獲得。又、2006年のSTEP Inside Design誌に『デザインタレントの出現』と評される。その他の受賞歴はD＆AD、Society of Publications Designers、Type Directors Club、AIGA365、AIGA50/50、Graphis、Print Regional Design Annual、I.D. Annual Design Review、Communication Arts、Black Book AR100、及びNew York Book Show 等。

スタジオクドスの共同設立者Kiki Katahira（以下片平）はニューヨークにあるデザイン会社2×4にデザイナーとして3年勤め、世界的なファッション、建築、芸術のメディアで活躍するの文化的クライアントとのプロジェクトに従事。それ以前は、Sagmeister Inc, Harry N. Abrams出版で経験を積む。...片平はニューヨークのSchool of Visual Artsのデザイン科で修士号、大阪芸術大学のVIsual Communication科で学士号を納める。 2004年米国のデザイン誌HOW の『5人の注目すべき若手デザイナー』特集で取り上げられ、同年米国のザイン誌のPrintでも高い評価を得る。2002年大学院在学中にAdobe Design Achievement Awardsでグランプリを獲得。その他受賞歴はArt Directors Club 銀賞、Tokyo TDC、Type Directors Club、Print Regional Design Annual、Communication Arts等。
